MISSING MRI TEST

Every patient normally has four MRI scans: FLAIR, T1, T1ce (with contrast) and T2. In real hospitals one is often missing. Pick a scan to take away and see what happens to the model, measured on 100 test patients.

Everything at once

Dice for every model and setting. Red means the model lost the tumor, green means it found it.

0.0 1.0

Does the model notice?

To measure doubt, each scan was predicted 8 times with small flips. Taller bar = more disagreement = the model is less sure.

Without FLAIR the doubt goes up three times, so the model is warning us. Without T1ce it fails even worse, but the doubt barely moves. It fails quietly.
